Iowa District Court for Carroll County

The Iowa Judicial Branch is expanding access to justice by offering online dispute resolution (ODR). ODR provides parties involved in court actions an option to resolve their legal matters through an online platform. Proven ODR benefits for parties include greater convenience, easier access to the courts, lower costs, and increased satisfaction with the court system. Parties can negotiate online directly with each other. If negotiations are successful, the parties do not have to appear in court. If negotiations are not successful, the parties can still have their day in court.

The Iowa Judicial Branch is currently developing three ODR pilot projects: traffic citations in Carroll County, forcible entry and detainer (FED) cases in Story County, and small claims money judgment actions in Black Hawk County.
